The fact that registrations sold out last November demonstrates the growing interest in this stage event, especially on the international scene. 70% of the runners who have participated this year come from abroad, attracted by the route offered by the Costa Brava and to live a shared sports adventure for three days. We must also highlight the increase in female participation, already 35% of the total registered in the race. A figure that grows year after year.

The Costa Brava, a true paradise
This stage race passes through two Natural Parks and all the participants enjoy a route designed to the millimeter to show all the treasures of the Costa Brava, which at times makes it difficult for the runners not to stop to contemplate all the landscapes through which the race takes place.

The final winners of the two distances
In the long distance (120K) the Italian runner from the Scarpa-Karpos team, Daniel Jung, clearly dominated, having won each and every one of the three stages, always ahead of his teammate, the Austrian Philipp Ausserhofer. The third classified has been the athlete from Barcelona, Joan Solanas, who despite his youth has shown experience in managing a stage race.

In the women's category, the runner from Solsona, Mavi Gil, took the third stage and has been the final winner in the long distance, after having a beautiful sports battle with Marianne Rhode, who finally came second. The third position on the podium was for Tabea Fian.

As for the CBSR80K, the German Geoffroy Jadoul has won the final classification, ahead of Carlos Casquet and the runner from the Netherlands, but resident in Barcelona, Gijs Wagenaar.

The women's classification in this distance of 80K, has been led by Amparo Escrich Garcia, winning two of the three stages. The second final position has been for Estel Roig Fortín, while Jess Garcia Casadevall was third.

The final evaluations of the participants
The Costa Brava Stage Run lowers the curtain until next year and some of the runners gave their words on the experience they had running on the Costa Brava. This is the case of the winner in the long distance, Daniel Jung, who stressed that "it is a beautiful race and the organization and volunteers are very motivated." "I'm sure I'll come back here, either to run or to spend the holidays", he added.

The winner in women, Mavi Gil, has pointed out after crossing the finish line that "it is a spectacular route, with a hard track and quite a bit of leg-breaking, with more uphill than it seems". She has also remarked that "the organization is to be given a tenth grade, because they are there for everything and for everyone: when you arrive you have the massage, the food ready and the suitcases in their place".

For his part, the runner Joan Solanas has pointed out that "during the route you pass through impressive coves and places on the Costa Brava that I did not know about". Regarding the experience lived these days, he said that "it is very 'cool' because everything is very well organized, especially for those who come from abroad, with the daily briefing, the awards ceremony for each stage, the photographs and the video summarize creating a family atmosphere and communion”.
